Got some time this weekend to do some updates on my projects.

Found out by one user that my Google Ajax Feed Slide Show plugin had some trouble working with Flickr. When investigating this it came to my attention that Flickr’s Media RSS only exposes the 75×75 square thumbnail in the thumbnail section, which really sucks IMO. So I created a Yahoo pipe that Flickr users can use in conjunction with my plugin to get medium sized images in their slide shows. The Google Ajax Feed API has a lot of features and I felt the need to include some more while fixing the bugs.

Changelog

  • Fixed a bug with URL’s that was encoded.
  • Added thumbnail_size parameter.
  • Added num_results parameter.

The Expono Aperture Plugin had some troubles with image titles when exporting and some usability problems when authentication failed. Thanks to @jemostrom for reporting and helping me with the bug testing.

Changelog

  • Titles on exported images will be set to IPTC headline if set, otherwise version name will be used.
  • Better error checking when checking authorization that allows you to retry if it fails.

New version of Google Ajax Feed Slide Show

Been very busy the last 2 weeks, a lot of things in school that require a little more attention from me then before. I wish for more time on my projects. My latest iPhone project has been 80% finished for 2 months now and I have great ideas on improvements for Expono iPhoto Plugin and Aperture Plugin. Thanks to @jemostrom for the bug and feedback reports.

Anyway I managed to get some hours to improve my Google Ajax Feed Slide Show plugin for wordpress which makes it much more useful then before. The main improvment is the short code feature to include the slide shows in your post like below.

Google AJAX Feed Slide Show Widget

The last week I’ve been digging around in wordpress and i really like it. Did manage to put together 2 themes, the one your looking at know and the one i use on e.g Expono iPhoto Plugin page. The second theme was easy to put together thanks to the Flutter CMS plugin. I even ended up with a wordpress widget plugin that uses Google Ajax Feed API and it’s slide show component. You can see a live example on my sidebar “Photos”.
